Has anyone here tackled the issue of using a car seat in an older blazer? Seems because the male end is all metal and won't bend the seat won't fit properly anywhere in the rear seat except the center. Come febuary I'm going to need to have 2 car seats installed. Any Ideas on how to solve the problem? Maybe others here already have solved it and could provide answers?

My only thought was going to the junk yard and un-bolting some seatbelts from older vintage cars or trucks and re-bolting them into the blazer? Ideas or suggestions are welcome

    Thanks!

I have 2 car seats in my 84 right now. They haven't been a problem. The 5 yr old still has room to sit between them too!!
Altho, I have since bolted in an Aerostar bench seat in the back of that, its rear facing. The 5 and 7 yr olds love it.

Must have a differnet seat belt setup than my 85. There is no way you can use the stock seatbelts with a car seat (except the middle belt) on my 85. I'm going to have to change them some how.

Do your belts for the window passengers go from the center out to side of the truck? The belts in this 89 are the same exact belts/seats i had in my 82. Could somebody have changed yours mayby?

Yes they go from center out (female) to the side (male). The problem is the Male end on the outside of the seat sits to far forward and doesn't bend to sinch(sp) tight, so I can't get the belt tight enough to hold the car seat securly to the seat. The middle works fine because both ends are connected to the truck using the standard belt type which is flexable and bends and can suck the car seat up to the bench seat nice and tight.

I've got the same set-up as yours and it works great. One carseat on each side with room on the middle.

Hmmmm.. Maybe its just my car seats that don't like it then. Go figure. Anyway I think what I"m going to have to do to solve my particular problem is go to a junk yard and remove some seatbelts from some older vehicles.
