What type of gas mileage do you get? What has been done to the motor? My boss is selling his 77 because he only gets 7 MPG and wants to get something that gets better mileage ex: Heep, etc. Thanks

My Chevy isn't broken, its just out of gas.

mileage depends on a lot of things. But when my truck was stock with 3.08s a 700r4 and stock tires it got an average of 12 all depending on how it was driven. There wasn't too much of a difference between highway and city driving.
Hope this helps, Mike

I had an '87 for several years. It got 13 mpg, just about every tank full. Stock engine, 700R4, 3.73's, 33 inch tires. That was when I lived at sea level, in Houston. Might be slightly lower up here in the mountains.

When my Blazer was stock, I also had the 700r-4, 3:73, 33" tire combo, and with my Gibson exhaust and K&N filter, it got about 15-16 mpg. on the highway and 14-15 in town. With all of the stuff I have done to it, it now gets about 7-8 everywhere.

10-15 is the range usually. Most likely the 11-13 range. If you want MPG then go with a MPFI setup like on the Vortec trucks. Otherwise IMO you can get better milage then the TBI with a Quad and decently done truck

I only ever checked my milage once and that was when the truck was stock. I got just over 13mpg on the highway running almost 80 mph through the whole tank.

My '91 V2500 Sub, bone stock, gets about 12-14 mpg. With something hooked on to the stern it goes down a little, of course.

'87 stock with 3.73 and 33s. Just got back off a roadtrip. I ran about 14-16 most of the time running 75, did hit in the 17 range, but that was running 60-65 through a storm. By the way, I flipped 150K miles on the trip.
