    Hey Guys,

My check engine light came on today on my way home from the shop (where my manuals are), and when I got home I pulled code 24 from the ALDL. If anybody has their manuals close by, let me know what it is.

If not, I will check on it tommorrow. just trying to get a heads up!!

    Thanks Rob

Do you mean how do you pull the codes? If its the same as my 87 (im sure it is) you make a paperclip into a U shape, and stick it in the top right 2 holes in ur prom connector. then switch to accesory and it will flash the codes, will flash i believe 12, 3 times then any stored codes.

Yup, I bet thats right, because I was fooling around under the truck where the VSS wires plug in to the tranny.

    Thanks Guys!!!

Under the dash just below the headlight switch. Do this with the ignition switch set to accessory (don't start it). The check engine light should flash once then a short pause and flash two more times. This is code 12 (normal). It should flash code 12 3 times, then any other codes will be given in the same manner. I think code 12 is also displayed 3 more times after any error codes.
