The only choices were the 700r4 or the sm465, I believe. Unless it came in some sort of package with the bruxh guards. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Turbo 400's weren't ever offered in K5's. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif But it's pretty easy to swap one in! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Interesting. I've messed with a LOT of K5's in the last 20 years and have never seen one with a stock Turbo 400. Does anyone out there have a K5 that came stock with the 400 cubic inch engine? Did that option trigger the installation of a Turbo 400? Or is the spec sheet being optimistic? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

My 78 GMC Jimmy came with the 400ci motor, but with a Turbo 350 tranny, wish it had the 400 trans in it!

I dont know if you classify the M1009 as a blazer, but it came with the 6.2 T-400/208 combo. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No Blazer or Jimmy was ever offered with a big block. There was a guy on here who had a Blazer with what appeared to be a stock TH400 a while back. I think it might have been a Chalet.

Well just to clear things up a little.
I had the 76-77 broshures, and if you look at the broshures link somewhere here on the site, you will find the same:
There was an option for a 400ci small block, but it could only be had with the th400.
I don't remember what Tcase was offered with it but you can look it up.
The th400 was otherwise an option that not many chose but still was available behind the 350ci.
Now the M1009 I believe is the equivalent of the civilian blazer and it never came with a th400 or D60 or 14b, like some people claim, only 10b/10b/6.2/700/208.
The M1008 which is the 1 ton pickup military issue did come with th400/208/D60/14bFF.
So stock blazer th400 was an option but only up until 80.
Big blocks were never offered in Blazer but many people opted to put one in, and some dealers put big blocks and named them SS blazers.

I still believe that the M1009's came with 400's. I am pretty sure of this, but could be wrong /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know I saw an M1009 with a 400 in it. I was fairly curious, b/c GM never offered it to the civilian market in a Blazer.

    My .02,
    John

All CUCV M1008 5/4 ton pickups /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif and M1009 Military Blazers /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif came with TH400 tranny's. The Blazers all had 208 cases and there was a option of getting a 205 on the 5/4 tons if it was a ambulance or a radio carrier pickup. The standard M1008 pickups had a 208 case also.
