ok - so a full tank of gas was in the thing the last time it was driven, now that I want to get her back on the road what kind of recommendations are there for purging the fuel system?

draining the tank, injectors, fuel lines, etc?

Got my 91 K5 back after 2 years - and man I need parts - BAD!!!!

Drain tank, and fill with gas. Disconnect fuel line at tbi with someone in truck have them turn on and off key to run fuel pump. Do this several time while you hold a bucket under line. Than change fuel filter. I would recoment taking apart throttle body and cleaning. Also while tank is down I would change fuel pumps and check tank for internal corrosion.

If the gas is a few years old I'd run it and see if it works. Older gas like in the 80's would laquer up but new gas seems impervious to that, much more stable. I'd dip something in the tank like a hose and if the gas seems clear and normal I'd run it.

Um, put some HEAT in there. It's Alcohol to strip water out of the gas. If it's been sitting it might have gotten water in the tank.

I would also recommend pre oiling the motor if it has sat for 2 years. I seen a neat thing, i forget where, using an old distributer with the cam gear removed and the shaft modified to attach to a drill. Spin the oil pump clockwise and build up some oil pressure for a few minutes. Helps to prevent a dry start.
