My C2500 has a big block, but I am not sure what GEN it is..... I need to get a new water pump and oil pump, but no idea if it is a long water pump or a short one. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

Pretty sure that is a long style. Chevy stopped using the short style back late 60's. Auto parts store or dealer should be able to verify.

The switch to Gen V was mid '91, so if you have the original engine, then its a Gen V.

I think its only the serpentine drive that uses the reverse-rotation pump. Either rotation pump should fit either the Mark IV or Gen V block.

It is. The full serpantine setup uses the reverse rotation pump. Thats how it is on my '92 454.
