93 K5 FULL SIZE BLAZER NEW OWNER NEED\'S HELP!

Hey I just moved to New England and bought a Blazer in Oklahoma before I came out. It's a great looking, and running truck. However I want to turn it into more of a trail and hardcore 4x4 with gears, lockers, armor and ect...
I dont know if anyone does this with the independent front suspension blazers though? Any sites or places that can be of help I would appreciate! Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of turning my blazer into a great trail and rock climbing truck while keeping it streetable? Thanks so much, Shane Wells

hey Shane, you might have more luck on the IFS over at www.fullsizechevy.com . Here people are more likely to tell you that if you ever want it to be super capable off road, ditch the IFS and swap a solid axle in there. Best of luck.

IFS sucks on a trail vehicle.

Wheel travel and IFS don't happen. Those front ends are prone to blowing out tierods so be sure you have a couple spares. Also plan on replacing the idler are 2-3 times a year if you wheel it.

Do a 4 link solid front 4end to get the best of both worlds.

He's right. No love for the IFS to be found here for wheeling.

sounds great, thats what I keep hearing about the swap.
Is that a major complex job? What would it cost to have it done with parts included...Any ideas? Thanks again!
