I purchased a 95 Blazer in Feb. The motor has been changed,so I don't know the actual milage, it says over 100,000 now. Its been running great. 4 dr, automatic, 4X4, everything great until now. I am driving down the road & a loud whirring sound starts & then a loud hard thump. Then down the road I keep going like nothing is wrong. Does anyone know what it is before I take it to my garage? /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

one possibility could be a transfer case problem, these type transfers(NP241 & the older NP208) are known to have internal problems that cause grinding, snapping, or thumping type noises
