Here is a link to a pic of me on the way to a 980 on a 25 degree ramp. I am about 1.5 inches from the point where I lift the left rear tire. After the tale of the tape I was 104.5 inches up the ramp.

Hope you don't mind, I just set that pic for my desktop wallpaper!

What have you done to get it to flex that much?

Well, it's about time you painted that thing! Looks good Dep. Like the new tires/wheels too!

I think the trimmed fenders and fenderwells help. Did you try going backwards? Mine seemed to do better going back but I have the Revolvers.

That thing looks good Depdog. I remember seeing it gray a while back. The green looks good. Are you going to Tellico any time soon? I am up here in Virginia and want to make a trip down. Let me know.

Did not try it this time, did on the other ramp at 4wpw, it did about the same front and rear then. There were lots of folks waiting to play on the ramp, so I ran up it and took a few pics, then took off. I have some on film that I have to get developed that may turn out better.

    Thanks

I am going to get another K5 Tellico run together for sure, not sure on the time frame. I need to talk with Grim about how the weather is at certain times of the year so that I can get another one planned. This one will not be on a holiday weekend thats for sure.

That rig looks sweet Depdog! I really dig the color and the tires and rims. That rig is awesome, considering you have all home-built parts. Man, I wish you were my neighbor [IMG]

Man thats sweet making all them Jeep boys jaws drop LOL.
I never did get to ramp mine but I haven't really done much since June when it ramped 752 on a 25 http://grimsk5s.coloradok5.com/cgi-bin/i/images/ramp001.jpg . Went looking for you Sunday and Saturday so I cold see the new stuff you put on and to give you Russel's money and never tracked you down. Did you camp? Man did it get cold at night!!! froze my butt off! What trails did you end up running? I ended up on upper 2 on friday and wacked the driverside rear 1/4 and had to take the tail light out to keep from ripping it out! bitched up the fender good LOL. Ran 3, 11 (up to school bus and then turned around) , and 5 on Sunday and didn't make it back home till 10pm LOL Yeah it's time to figure out another run. I'm sure Rob, Keith and BigJBear will go. Heck maybe we should hotel it and run Tellico in Nov? hehehe Wow I don't know if you heard the damage tolls but there were like 5 rolls! One dude lost it on Helicopter and rolled 3 times and end over ended 2-3 times. Hear the jeep left with a good bit of it in the back of other trucks and the rest being dragged by one of the big guys from Tennesse dragging the carcuss out. I hear that the monster Blazer on 44's took out the carcuss but not sure thats true...never saw his truck at all that weekend Did see the monster K5 from GA (same dude that owns the 4x4 spitfire on a K5 frame). It might have been that guy that dragged it out.

We did 4,5,6,8,9 on Sat. Was gonna do 12 on Sunday, but stayed up late and I had broken the tire carrier off, could not haul all the stuff home without my bud, and he was gonna leave before noon. So we stayed in camp on Sunday and watched the ramp and slow crawl compitition, packed up and hauled to the house. I got home about 4 p.m. I guess.

We were camped at the other end of the main campground. Yep it got damn cold all right. Had a great time though. I dont know about Nov. Dont have enough leave time for that quick a turn around, but maybe early in 2001 we can go, the motel sounds fine, hell as far as Dixie is from the trials might as well use one.

If you mean that big Blue K5, yeah I saw it, saw it last year at Dixie too. Its a beast, but dont think it will touch that beat up white one that the guy drives up there, the one with One Car Funeral on the bumper. I caved in a quarter panel and broke off the tire carrier, gotta rebuild it stronger and guess I will tie it into the body to help with the weight and vibration. I will email you Russell's address and you can send him a check, its no big deal.

I have extended front shocks, and the rears are totally moved from the stock position. Other than that, I took all my springs apart and smoothed them with a sanding disk and have greasable bolts on the rear bushings. All poly bushings and I also have longer e brake cables.

i have the same extended shock mounts and brake lines front and rear. it is the front, i think, that is limiting my travel. the tuff country springs have three thick leaves clamped together, did you cut this clamp to free up some movement? did you modify the springs any other way? i thought about the revolvers but the rear flexes just fine for me.
    thanx,
    MTPockets.
think about TTC depdog. you could represent CK5.
    take it easy.
ps. we are coming up in nov to tellico, the 16-19.

I cut off the stock clamps and had them replaced with a set of stock bolt style clamps off a set of stock rear springs. Other than that, I smoothed the edges with a 4" grinder with some sanding disks on it. Mine flex pretty good. Could still stuff a little move in the front I think, but they do very well, I am happy with them.
