a 12 bolt in an 87 chevy short bed 4x4.? *LIFT QUESTION*

    as you all know i blew my diff, and replaced it with the 79 12 bolt that my friend gave me, thanks again tripp!:). but now i have a shortbed, and im unsure if my driveshaft will be long enough to do a 4" block lift in the back, can anyone clear this up for me? because I WILL BE very greatful if you can /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

    Mine was fine. Just needed the conversion u-joint.

    i got a 4 on my 87 with stock shaft,does good but i wouldnt put it to the teast persay, dont wanna pull it out as far as you can mud and small rocks or missouri trails are good though, but thats about all i know hope that helps ya /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

    my dad is being a meanie and not letting me put the lift on now, he says a parking break is more inportant, and now i do agree with him, just because i have been wanting one for A LONG TIME!, so i think im gunna goto napa one day and get one, and maybe a few more things as well. but i will see what happens in spring with the lift issue. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    More info, I ran 4" blocks at first. Don't have a problem, but when I did the shackle flip, it moved the axle forward, much closer to stock. Now with the 14b, the driveshaft runs where it did with no lift and the 10 bolt.

    As far as cost, there are tons of options, I bought ORD's kit. Took about a day to install.

    well to just go simple dimple style, i will probly go with the rear blocks, untill i have time anough to look and study how a shackle flip is installed. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
