That would definitely be an interesting conversation piece! Here is what adorns my coffee table.

Dudes crazy enough to come to my house: "What da fock is that?!
Me: "Gather 'round kiddies, while I spin ya a yarn 'bout the SM465"

    ...or something like that... /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I wish I could say I made it! My girlfriend got it for me. She's great! I'm gonna have to say SKE radome on that one. You work on 130's BigJBear?

I used to, six years in the USMC, KC130s mostly F & R models, ocasionally a T and less often Air Force A & Hs. Also, four years at Lockheed, the last few Hs and all the varations of the new J. The J model is cool, much more like comerical stuff, but still way befind the times in other areas. The H/T (same thing, but the T is a KC) are still the best of the bunch, IMHO.

You must be an USAF guy, ours used that spot for an APX-76.

Sometimes I still miss 130s, I just don't miss working for Lockheed.

Sounds like you've worked on just about all the models out there! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Yeah, I'm Air Force. Didn't know it was that obvious. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif I've only worked E's and H's. Just the slicks, no fancy stuff. What was so bad about Lockheed? I saw a new J on base the other day. Looks like a video game. Really wild looking up there!

Unstable is the biggest understatment I can think of. The way the IAM (union) & company work together is sickening. Basicly all you have to do is clock in. There is no accontability for your actions. That is probably one of the reasons EVERYTHING has to be inspected. There is a serious lack of profeshinalism. I have been much happer since I went to Delta. Just my $.02.

PS: I don't want to give the impression anything is being done that is unsafe. The real problem is in the way things are managed. There has been a strike since I quit, so maybe the company has toughened up and things have gotten better.

I don't get that impression at all. I can relate to everything you are saying. Its all with upper management. They definitely set the tone.

I worked on F-14's for 7 years.. That was the sh!t brothers.
Of all the things I wish I could have done, would be the chance to pilot one of those bad boys.
Cool times supporting them and makin them fly..
But to be able to actualy fly one.. Damn
