Ok, this might sound corny but I just wanted to say my wife ROCKS! She's cooking lasagna for dinner and she just informed me that I better get that engine dropped in this weekend so I can be ready for Moab's EJS. [IMG] With having 2 kids (age 2 and 9), it's hard to find the time to work on the ol' K5 these days and I'm sure other parents out there know what I mean. Anyway, I owe a lot of it to her for her support and understanding. The Blazer wouldn't be where it is today if it wasn't for that. If any of you want to view her page, go to: http://www.off-road.com/chevy

cool gf

My gf helped me install the lift, axles, and transmission in my 84 Sierra. She also helped me bore out my 396 and build it, and finally install it. She also is a great off road driver, when the situation gets really hairy and i fall short of performance because of fear of breaking my beloved truck, she'll gladly take over til the shakes leave me and i can take over again. She has saved me from a few roll overs. She also restored the interior all by herself without me knowing, for my birthday.

Dam Shawn, You ARE one luck guy. Your wife is a babe, cutie kids, sweet truck and so on....................................[IMG]
My wife also rocks! sorry no pictures[IMG] I have two kids also but luck for me, my son is 20 (gone!), my daughter is 17(almost gone) and it's part"a" time. I hate to say it but I kinda feel lucky my wife isn't into everything I'm in to. She lets me go do things without a hassel. If it wasn't for her, I'd be nowhere. But thanks to her push, we live on a 35 acre ranch in a log home overlooking lake Dillon. A far cry for our 1st mobile home. Maybe we can get together some day if I can talk her into going out with me in the Blazer.

Amen to that..........my wife of almost 13 years is the greatest thing to happen to me. Understands my K5 obsession and supports me in everything I do. Drove my K5 the other day back from the tranny shop and said "damn that thing cooks"...........some punk in a rice boy machine got the surprise of his life going up Kane Road (nice hill). Thought he would take her off the line and pass her where it goes into one lane...........haha.

My wife gets iritated with me for spending so much time on ck5 and for spending so much on the Blazer. But after the Big Bear trip with my son, she a lot more supportive. She heard how much fun he had and how bad he wants to go again.

Good post Shawn, credit where credit is due! My wife also rocks! My kids are a hair younger than your, 14 months and almost 7, so I feel your pain about time to work on the beast.
Ever since I took the eldest wheelin' with me my wife has been more supportive. I have to admit that the rear half of a blazer standing up in our open carport isn't the nicest thing to look at, but she has been cool and basically just says do what you have to do. Even smoothed over the people on Strata council when we got a warning letter about the junk in the carport!
Now she wants to come wheelin' with me and the kids in Oregon at Easter! Thats a long ways from I'm never wheeling with you again![IMG]

You're a lucky man Shawn. My wife is also very supportive, what with me and our fleet of 9 4x4s! Her rides consist of a 1990 Suburban 4x4, Dana 60/14bolt, 6" lift and 35s on Welds. Now she wants it a little higher, so I bought her a set of 37" Goodyear Hummer radials and got 8" springs to install. Her secondary ride is an '83 Jeep CJ7 with an AMC 401 v8. Momma likes to drag race 5-point-OH Moostangs!! The only trouble I have with her is that she wants stuff for her rigs, and momma comes first!!! Oh, and another thing, she bought me our boat, 28' Baja offshore (2 454s), and makes the payment every month!! And, she's saving now for our next dream, a 31' Weekend Warrior toybox trailer, and a Yamaha 660 Raptor quad. She's now bustin my balls as to where we are going for president's day weekend; Glamis, Dumont Dunes, or Pismo Beach...tough choice...anyway, I think I'll keep her!!

Well I'd say you are all pretty lucky guys. I'd take a gf that wouldn't complain about my blazer and drag racing stuff, none the less one that would actually jion in. Most girls in their early twenties just ain't into it.... Well at least my Blazer won't get fat and wrinkled... just faded and rusty LOL

HA HA HA!!!! Good wife huh? Lets see, here it is Valantines day around the corner. I have been planing on getting my wife a diamond bracelet for the occasion. She has been full aware of it because she has had a certain one on her mind for a while so I have to get here help in order to get it. So last weekend while we were out wheelin together, my AGR power steering geerbox went bad. It wouldnt turn right any more without some serious, and I meqan serious arm power. Anyways, we drug the blazer on the trailer up to AGR to have them take a look at it. For a couple of months now I have talking about adding a ROCKRAM to the truck. So while we are ther at AGR I start talking about the ram and how much it is gonna cost and that now would be the ideal time to do the upgrade. I told the guys at AGR that I would love to but I cant do it for a little while because the money I have saved up is for Christies Valantines day gift. Now understand that over the last year and a half EVERY and I mean EVERY sinlge penny we have had has gone into the K5. Well, without me knowing it she talked to AGR and told them to get the stuff ready and we would pick it up next week. She is delivering the box back out to them naxt week and then picking it back up later in the week. THE ULTIMATE WIFE!!!
She gave up a Diamond bracelet for the ROCKRAM! And she is pumped up about it. I cannot tell you how many times this has happend over the last year. SHE NEVER hesitates to help out on the K5. For our honeymoon she decided that we should go to MOAB, our honeymoon, MOAB. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
I guess some of us are just luckier than others!!!!!!

My wife saved every paycheck she could to buy me my new swamps and rims for christmas. When I needed them a little earlier, she said no prob and bought em, then turned around and bought me enough herculiner to do the inside of my truck. She's a great wife. Handed me a buttload of money and told me to call ORD and order up. To date, she's given me close to $3000 for the blazer. She's even agreed to name our first kid Blazer. What's cool, she doesn't even like offroading, she just knows how much I love it.

Thanks Dot, yer the greatest!

Well I gotta put my 2 cents in too [IMG].

I have been engaged for about a year. My gf told me not to worry about the ring repeatedly as I bought new tires, a non-running 74 blazer, a 350 tranny, fixed my poor swamped tranny in my 90, the list goes on. Damn she's great.

Epilogue: I finally bought her the ring and she's getting it this week.....shhhhhhhh, don't tell.

That's outstanding Shawn... You're a lucky man.
As I feel I am a very lucky man also.. for having Cheri "Rockosangel" in my life..
She is out there turning wrenches with me.. Helped me build the other Blazer from the ground up and supports me in whatever I want to delve into next.
Plus she's one hell of a Photographer ... she has taken all our pictures during our runs..

Happy Valentines Day Cheri ... hope your back is feeling better !!!!

Thanks Mrs. Fox.. for allowing Steve to come out and play... actually for supporting him with this Site..
If it weren't for Steve.. I don't think I would have met the great friends I have here in Austin.. Phyte, Stoopalini, Ray, Bowtie.. and others...
Okay.. rambled on to much... but everyone deserves credit for making this site successful.... :)

It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I also have a very cool "Chick". Marietta is very supportive in my K5 spending spree. I have owned everything from the K5, Nitro Powered RC Truck, two Suzuki RM 125 and all the Motocross Gear, Drag Cars and she never gave a negative comment. She just bought a Jeep Cherokee and we are planning to add some mods. She enjoys wheeling in the K5 or the Jeep. She constantly buys parts for my Birthday and Christmas gifts! Thats WAY cool! Some of you will get to meet my sweetie when you go wheeling at the Midwest Spring K5 Thing.
