I was at my local junkyard last week (thanks to the LIRR and washed out tracks-day off!!), and there was a 1-ton there. Sho 'nuff, it's got a D60 under it, and according to the options sticker in the glove box, 4.11 gears. It's either covered in mud, or a lovely earth tone...

What would you guys pay for this puppy? I can't get a look at the gears currently, so I don't know what kind of shape they're in. The mileage on the truck is low (it's wrecked).

    So whatta y'all think?

go back to the yard and act like a dumbass. Say you are lookiing for a replacement front end since yours was hit in the front.. Offer whatever you think is a good deal, since it is sight unseen in a way. Just play dumb. If they know you are looking for a "DANA 60" instead of just a replacement for what you have, they will introduce you to ben, as in ben dover.

IT'S A 1 TON THING.... IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!

LOL, too late! I already gaped at it when they brought the truck in before I could see what it was and said "is that a d60, is it, is it?"
They didn't know what it was when I said that, and I figured it out the second time I was there and saw it, but I don't know if they know yet... If it ain't $100, it ain't in my budget. But I was wondering what you guys think might be a fair deal on it.

Play 'uneducated' and offer 100 for the D60 and 50 for the 14FF.

You can make some big $$$ if you are not using them.

    Get them!!!!!!!

Too bad I'm not closer or I would grab it!
I think the shipping would kill any good deal.
The 14FF I have is a 4:10 and it would make it cheaper to install. I wish someone had a good one out here. I really want to set mine up over the winter. Anyone know what the shipping would be?

Yeah, this thing looks like it has a 465/205 in it too...

Interior completely destroyed, roof cut off by FD, and driver's side door crushed in, too. Too bad, cause it looked completely rust free...

I guess I'll wave $100 in front of 'em and see if it works... I'm pretty psyched that there's a chance I could get this thing! Even up here in mall-crowded suburbia these things are pretty well sought after, so if I nabbed it, I'd keep it... I'm just afraid it would end up holding dust in my garage until I can pick up the rear...

    Thanks all!

Hey what yard was this in, I was Medford autowreckers today. Assholes were trying to charge me 60 bucks for one spring plate for a dana 60. I pointed out that is was only 37 from the dealer but he was convinced that it would take them over an hour to remove it. Anyways he also told me that they get $250-400 for front ends and I noticed 2 60's siting in a pile, not sure if they were dodge or chevy thou. If you are interested give him a call and play dumb. Never hurts to try.

Over an hour!!!! When I went to pick up my 60 Tom had it out in 15 minutes. The easy way to tell a Dodge from a GM is the brake lines on a Dodge go accross the axle and the shock mounts on a Dodge is just a single bar of steel on each side.

Nah, this set was at a yard here in Huntington. The truck is still complete, they haven't started gutting it yet (very tempting).
I've heard Medford is a PIA to deal with, though. I forget what I bought from them, but maybe 5-6 years ago I was there, and they actually let me go up and pick through the truck I needed parts off (my buddy that was taggin along made out better than me). I thought that was cool of them, but $60 for a spring perch is crack influenced...
I still need to get back to this yard here and see what they want for that d60...

    Hey Newyorkin,
I am from north east New Jersey, if you find out a price on that axle and do not want it let me know. If you decide to buy it, there is a yard about 20 miles from me that has a crap load of 14 bolts. Thanks, Pete.
