Long time listener, first time poster........
OK I have been watching for a while and trying to figure out how to be as cheap as possible: and my question is has anyone tried to mount a hummer wheel backward on a D70.
I can find 1 ton dually axle around here fairly cheap and wondered if it would work.

There was a discussion on this a while back on Pirate. Best solution might be to look for a set of Dually rings in order for you lug nuts to have a surface to seat.

I guess I don't understand what you are trying to do because these are the spec's I've been able to dig up on those two axles and those wheels:

Dually D60: WMS to WMS is 76-5/8"
D70 Dually rear end: WMS to WMS for it was 74-5/8".

    Hummer Rims: 16.5" x 8.25" w/ BS 6.75"

Why do you want to run the rim backwards on the rear?
Then the rear wheels will stick out farther than the fronts, assuming the numbers I've got are correct.

I'm currious about what your trying to accomplish because I'm working on getting a D70HD right now for my truck and was gonna go with the D60 dually in the front too. But I was gonna run a custom set of dual beadlocks with Hummer offset and a 1" spacer in the rear to even up my track width.

I made up some spacers to do what your wanting to do, on your dana70 I think you can run some 2"inch wide spacers to get thinks right...

A cab and chassis 14FF is 63.5 wms to wms, it might work better than a DRW pickup axle.

I was under the impression that a D70 was narrower than a 14bolt. I am just trying to avoid running spacers and wandered if that would be an option.

A D70HD from a chevy dually pick up is a quick source for one with the wide WMS (74"+ as previously stated) . Cab & chassis trucks use the narrow 14 bolts and D70's.

Is the search working on here again? If it is, search on here, we've talked about it a few times. Pirate, too.
