Does it burn anybody else up when they see a nice (or even a little beat up) K5 being driven by an A-hole punk kid that cuts in and out of traffic (I mean really close passes), hops curbs, and revs up as fast as he can to close the 50 foot gap between him and the next car up???? Moron ends up at the same light as everyone he passed, too. It takes one bad apple to make us look like destructive punk kids...

If you haven't guessed yet, I was passed tonight by a truckload of PAB's driving a K5 I wouldn't mind driving. This kid belonged in an Exterra, I swear. I kept up to him and landed behind him at a couple lights, WITHOUT driving like a jerk. Pisses me off to no end. I was almost totally embarassed by this guy. My wife was even annoyed.

I guess he just needed to show off, since my truck looked a whole world better than his...

Anybody ever hear of the Jeep wave and Chevy honk? I discovered the Chevy honk a few weeks ago, and love it. The jeep thing I discovered when I drove the Cherokee full time, but it wasn't as cool as the Chevy honk... It was a dark road, about 11:30pm, I saw a mid-late 80's Chevy/GMC grill/headlight setup coming at me, and got a nice toot as he passed... I never got that with my old K5, or my S10, but it was really cool!! Now I notice it a lot, half the times I see another Chevy/GMC with the same body and hear a honk, it's a Chevy greeting!!

I have seen ta few K5's here and usually we exchange some sork of greeting... weather a look or like a cool lifted rig I saw before I lifted mine... the ole peace sign. I usually nod or wave... Even lifted jeeps around here give me the thumbs up...

A thing has started with the lifted trucks around here to wave. Just a simple lift of the hand. Kind of like the Corvette wave. Pretty cool. It's not limited to any type of lifted truck. I tend to forget to wave at the Heepsters though! hahaha

I know what you mean Ratch. People just floor it to stop at a red light faster. I have a Diesel and a 3.08 ratio so I don't win any acceleration races. I just get up next to em and 2 - 3 lights and honk at em each time and wave. Just confuses the poor suckers.

I do the wave and honk thing here. I have not really seen that many K5s here. This state is more or less rampantly diseased with Heeps and Super Dumpies.

Everyone who drives a K5 around here (but me[IMG]) is an [censored]. They turn their noses up when I go by. I wave at them anyway. There is a new one in town with 35's on it. Nick told me about him, but I haven't seen him yet.
But the punks that drive blazers like they're sports cars prolly don't pay their own gas. Mommy prolly got him a gas card that mommy pays for. When someone goes by me like that, I think, "Okay, see ya at the light [censored]!"

There's a few K5's around here i see all the time. There is an '86...always saw the guy drive around, di the nod thing. Then I was out washing my Blazer ,and he drove by...talked to the guy for a few minutes, and it turned out i had been friends with him in elementary school, but I moved a few miles away...the other day I saw a really nice K5, 6" lift, 35's, real nice paint and body. Pulled up next to me at a light, and asked how hard it was to take the top off. He said it is awesome. next day I saw the same K5 topless. Other than those, there are probably 10 more i see a lot, but never talked to the people.......

In nashville, I get some hi's and hey's every once in a while. I have little biz cards I made for cheap and pass them out and stick them under wiper blades, but no one has ever called back. A couple were stock, one had 31's, one had 38's, one had 35's.
But I see them all over the place over in rich boy part of town. The ones your talking about. The ones where the parents buy the kid whatever he wants (shella's too, sorry ladies)
But they are never dirty. It must be an attention thing. Damn Mall crusin poser, curb feelin wanna be's [IMG]

Around here in my home town of approx. 3000 people, I'm known as the '4x4 junkie!' [IMG]

Everybody keep coming up to me to ask if I have a truck for sale or if I want to buy theirs. Guess they either want one of mine or they want to see me build theirs up. [IMG]

Its also like a 'salvage yard' thing for us here. People calling all times of the day for anything. Parts, info, tech, someone stuck, etc. You get the idea.

Lately, its been dying down on the calls and visits. Finally everybody realizes we have a baby now!!! [IMG]

I see a billion K5's around here.... most are punks... then there are the stockers who are (no offense to anyone) that are Mexican. They have the little rope from the rear view and the Blazer is beat up and looks like crap. Makes me mad to see that.... then there's the few who are like me. They never wave though... I honked at one guy and he flipped me off so now I don't do anything! LOL, stupid Californians..... we are some rude folk....

My friend has a K5, it's absolutely beautiful. He brought it all the way from Texas to Illinois. Now he takes it muddin' every day and gets it filthy and never cleans it. It's a shame too because it doesn't have any rust at all. It's an '86.

Hee hee - the only time people honk at me is when something falls off (like rust)!

I get the nod and wave occasionally from other 4WD folks, not just K5's....I have a neighbor who stopped me the other day to ask about my exhaust setup.....his house is on the corner, so every morning I have to turn to get on the road to go to work...we have waved a few times, but he told me that he has enjoyed the way my truck sounds and wanted to know what setup I was running.....He just finished the motor in his truck and is in the market for exhaust....we ended up talking for a bit, and now we wave more often......He is building a 78 Short Narrow bed Ford w/4" and 35's.......I get the best of both worlds since I also get the Corvette wave...'specially when I have the top off.......I luv it....JD

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..

Well at least you don't live in Kingwood, Tx, where kids are driving around Defender 90's, Lexus's, BMW's, and if they don't have that, they have a mustang, camaro, or jeep. You know how many kids think, hey i have a jeep, it will go anywhere. I just drive around them in two wheel drive and then try to explain what a locker is and they argue if there jeep is a one-wheel-wonder, why doesn't it go in circles. HAHAHA. Oh well, later - Doug Krebs

That's because they don't understand. They think the big body lift and 31" tires make their Jeep more powerful or get better traction when one side's on moss and the other is on granite.

That and idiot kids think "limited slip" and "open diff" mean the same thing.
