    Re: chips and dip?

Hey guys/gals, this guy who does a radio show here in DC often fields questions about chips. The guy's background is credible (certified by US Gov't as expert witness/used cars, all that stuff) and he has said numerous times, a chip is no good unless your trying to improve 0-60 times or quarter mile speed. That'd be no good for trails in my opinion. We need torque, not RPM's.

You don't think torque is what improves 0-60 times?

After you check your u-joints,and probably find they are ok,pop your rear diff cover and check out the carrier. If your K5 is like many of our fellow K5'S, the rear carrier is junk!! When my truck was all 1/2 ton, I did all kinds of erformance upgrades and was in the gas really hard,I went through about 10 rear 10 bolts before I got serious and did what I did.Good luck and I hope I did not scare you!!

Sure but wouldn't that depend on gearing matchups?
