I needed a new daily driver as my Blazer has been giving me a lot of problems lately and I'm moving far enough away from my work where it was getting a little cold on the freeway in the mornings.

Nothing like 400HP/400FT/LBS of Torque for the morning commute.:D

No doubt, I drove to Yuma a few weeks ago and got it up to 130:eek1: before I got scared and backed off of it. It was ready for more though. It will do 0-60 in under 5 but I'm still breaking the motor in so I haven't tried it yet.:D

Good deal... We'll meet up and race sometime. I've got 0-60 in under 5. Not sure what you top out at, but I know I've got a governor at 155, I've been there :haha:... you think 130's scary... try doing 155 on a relatively busy freeway...:wink1:

    Nice!

Now a question. Even for a communter, why would you buy that car in an auto? Doesn't that take 90% of the fun out of it?

Nice ride! Now you should get personalized plates for it that say "GR8ONE". A common nickname that GTO enthausiasts have given the GTO is "The Great One" so the license plate idea will fit perfectly.

That depends on the traffic. I have had both here, the stick was more fun but the auto ain't bad in bumper to bumper traffic.

That is a nice loking car and should be fun to drive with that engine.:waytogo:

You need to have a governor at something slower called common sense. Just because it can does not mean that you should.;)

Exactly! Sitting on an uphill freeway in bumper to bumper traffic is not a lot of fun in a manual. You also get more consistant launches at the strip with an auto.;)

I'd prefer a auto tranny myself. As I've gotten older I don't want too be constantly shifting. Also, you can't have remote start with a stick.
