Renowned for it's antiques and... um... community college? Centralia has much to offer tourists of a senile nature.

This is the old synagogue we live next to. I don't know what it's used for, but it's maintained, and has what looks to be a large oven inside. Combine that with the fact there's a cargo container outside with a 3rd Reichish eagle on it, and we call it the Jewish Bakery.

This is the clocktower at the college. On the bottom are plaques for people who have influenced the region/world.

This is one of the plaques.

One of the antique malls. We have murals everywhere.

The freedom walk at the city library. That's a statue of a WWI soldier, and names of all the area soldiers who've died in service, up to Vietnam I believe.

These first two are the old Fox movie theater. It's recently been converted to an opera house, which will force me to eat my hat if it survives a full year.

Another old mural. There are actuall some cool logging ones around, but I don't recall exactly where. I didn't feel like walking that much.
    2006_0729Image0045.JPG

I never noticed that we have rooms for a dollar.

This is an old church that was run down, and made into a house, subsequently run down. It's since been restored into a badass castle. Supposedly there will be a high bill concert in there in the near future, but I don't remember who was scheduled.

The scenic little river that cuts through town. And is highly polluted. And is the outlet for the sewage treatment plant. And runs through all but one park in town. And that I swim in.

This is a picture of a class at the glass blowing shop in town.

That's a hell of a lot of bars. They're packed in tight here. Every Thanksgiving weekend, there's the Tower Crawl. Tower Ave. has most of the town's bars, it's something like 6-8 (depending on what's closed down for the month for meth problems) in a half-mile.

I'll be damned. It doesn't look like she's wearing anything... We were in IHOP, so she must have been...

Yep. Sorry to spoil the fun:

This is a statue at the college. Something aboot reaching for the stars. Pretty good work, once you get over the nekkid part. My friend wants to cut a dildo in half, and glue the back half into it's ass crack...

And this is my aunt's place where I used to live (couple months ago). They're remodeling the bathroom right now. Once they finish that, all they have left is the rest of the house. :doah:

Nice mini tour. I end up all over Louisiana and usually go for a walk to stretch. It's mazing the stuff you run across while out walking. I gotta remember to bring a camera......

Jenn's trying to teach me the proper way to pronounce Centralia. Seems to be a hopeless project.

    Nice pictures by the way!

Isn't Centralia, PA the place that's burning forever?

The Castle is built over China Creek. It runs straight through the middle of town. It's called China Creek, because back in the day (probably railroad hay-days), all the Chinese immigrants would wash their laundry in it. Polluted as hell now.
