after I turn off the engine when the AC has been on, there is a really loud sound coming from the area where the AC is...sound like something boiling over, of hissing, leaking, something like that...any ideas?

Does the A/C function still correctly? That sounds for me like air is in the system.

My '90 Sub does the same thing. I haven't had any trouble with my AC either.

Normally the air condition may not make noises, because the system should be completely filled. However few air is in it, one hears a strange sound, but the A/C functioned still very well. Only if it becomes more, you must do a refill.
