Mid-week last week we were are $1.34 per gal. By Friday it jumped up to $1.49 per gal. Some drop in gas prices /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif I don't understand why it takes two weeks for it to drop 10 cents but it can up $0.15 overnight. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Over here in the bay area it's at about $2.09 per gallon. I think it's about $1.89 low octane, but I'm not about to feed my baby that crap. We are totally at the mercy of OPEC. If you think about it, there's no real reason for the prices to be up so high other than that they can be. Airlines pay about $.66 a gallon for fuel, I learned that in a business project I did.

1.48 for 87, 1.58 for 89, 1.68 or so for 93, depends on the station, but within 15 miles, prices are =/-3 cents a gallon of each other per octane... good ol snowbird price gouging is leaving with them....

Around half the price of a gallon of gas is tax. This goes to keeping the roads you drive on intact and what not. Airplanes don't use the roads (duh), so no tax. Not to mention the volume they must buy in has to bring the cost down.
