4 speed and 27 spline dont exist.. unless aftermarket custom ?
4 speed were 10 spline '70s and older, and 32 spline '80s up

If he had a 700R4, that was 27 spline

All TH 400s are 32 spline, which would mean he'd have to change transfer cases.

If he's got a 4 speed now, and it's 10 spline, there is no 208 adapter or input that will work with that tranny/transfer case combo, only a 205 or 203 will bolt up.

If he has a 32 spline 4 speed, he needs a 208 with the long 32 spline input and the adapter from a 4 speed/208 truck from 82-91.

If all he needs is the 4 speed to 208 adapter plate, (tall one I believe) I have one of those.
Let me know if this is what he needs:

This came out of a 4 speed truck that had been converted to a 700. It uses the 'flat' crossmember.

Not to nit pick, but the 32 spline 465 (and resultant NP208) began in 81 not 82. my 81 Jimmy came stock with the 32 spline 465 and 208 combo.

Sorry rene, don't know how I missed that.

Guess I assumed that the first year for the 208 was also the first year for the 700R4, which is incorrect, because in '81 you got a TH 350/NP208 combo.

Yep. I knew the first year for the 700R4 was '82 and that's where the assumption on the 208 came from.

Oh well, I was close enough, but thanks for the correction rene.
