Decided to paint my interior myself. Spent an inordinate amount of time cleaning, wet sanding, cleaning, cleaning and cleaning.

Got down to the final cleaning before tack and primer, inside the cab, lots 'o prep-sol stuff, wiping it all down... thought, "Hey, this is kinda fun. I don't mind this.... I can see how guys could do this all the time..."

    Was I:
<ul type="square"> [*]Learning something new and in the throes of discovery?
    [*]Genetically predisposed to lunacy?
[*]HIGH because I'd forgotten to wear a respirator?
    [/list]
    Guess which one... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I had a respirator on when I painted my truck and I had to leave the damn garage to let the fumes clear... High on paint ain't fun at all!

I used to do bodywork so I remember it being fun at first. It stops being fun real fast. That pretty much leaves option B if you continue to enjoy it for very long...

You doing the plastic too? If so, the interior paint that www.cheyennepickup.com sells is good stuff. Used it on my 79 going from baby puke tan to black, held up real well.

    You didn't have fun until:
You wore all your fingerprints off.
18 bugs decided to land in the worst places ever (preferably seams) and wallow in the paint for half an inch before they die.
You pay attention so as to not get the air hose in the paint but forget about your pantlegs.
Someone decides to open/close the overhead door or slam a side access door so the last 30 years of [darn] being in the rafters floats down and lands on your paint.

The only time I drink beer is when I paint. I drink two real quick, gag, and then go paint. It works as a "I don't give a [darn]" pill so you don't try to fix things as you go. Usually when I try to fix things as I go I make it worse so I just lay the paint on and, clean up the gun, and go watch TV. I come back after watching half an hour of TV and look at all the [darn] I have to fix which usually amounts to one or two dry spots, a run somewhere (from trying to fix a dry spot), and half a dozen bugs.

I like painting and all the stuff associated with it because I like the bling.
