Posted on behalf of a friend, anyone can help ?

    >>Basically, right now I have an empty dashboard (78 GMC Jimmy) and want
either a drop in unit, plans for a back plate to mount instruments to,
suggestions on eliminating the circuit board from the system (I do have
    the wiring diagrams), or whatever.<<

If he is looking for a digital unit try Digital dash. they will have a bolt in unit that will work with the stock bezel. If he is looking to mount a buch of dial style gages then he needs to hit a Machine shop and have them bend up a peice of Aluminum to mount through. He should be able to take a stock bezel and they will be able to use it as a template.

BTW, a digital dash will probably run you about 5 bills. I wish I had the dough to blow on one. Try LMC or Year One if you want to go with the regular stuff. You can order a free catalog from both
places. LMC is at Longmotor.com. Year One is at YearOne.com.
