I am thinking of replacing my gauges with AutoMeter gauges. Do any of you have pics of your replacement gauges?

I was thinking of volt, oil pressure, temp and tranny temp for the smaller gauges and the 120 MPH and 6000 RPM gauges for the big gauges.

How hard is it to make them look right and not all hacked up?

sorry i don't have any pics. but i used autometer , i think there called super comp gauges, at 2 5/8" dia.

i took out the stock dash and useing a small router with a 1/4" bit, removed the plastic that covers the 4 stock small left hand gauges. making a 2 5/8" hole for the autometer gauge to slide into. a hole saw might work to if you hold things steady.

it really looks good and makes for and easy fit of those gauges...

Did you replace your speedo? My speedo is jumping around and the needle is bent.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the fuel gauge!

I guess I could dump the tranny temp and put the fuel gauge there.

    Anyone with pics?

Well as cool as that is, I was more looking for stock replacements. The open dash with no glovebox doesnt hold up to well on the street.

Uh Open your eyes! There is a glove box there on the passenger side. A fully functional dash with heater\defroster controls, lights, battery manager. And it will out last any replacement dash pads! And further more this is not an open dash, it has defrsoter outlets on top, I just ommited the vents in front as I never used them before!

Uhhh, ok eyes open now /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif. LOL Ok, so you have a glovebox, however, I am still looking for "stock" replacements.

Besides, I have NO metal working skills. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My set up is very similar to sparky's. All the gauges are easily in view.

The bezel is 1/8" alluminum cut into 3 seperate pieces. Mounts for gages are autometer angle mounts for the 2 1/8" gages and 3" PVC pipe for tach and speedo cut at angles too.

I noticed that you put a small gauge in between the speedo and the tach. What gauges do you have? I like the idea, it would be a nice place for a tranny temp or an air pressure gauge.

Both are good choices but sense the 4 gages to the left are volts, water temp, oil temp, & oil pressure, I put the fuel gage between the tach and speedo. I also installed low oil pressure light (red) and high water temp light (amber) in the 4 gage area.
