My 78 Blazer has an aftermarket quad front shock setup installed. I have no idea how stiff it is (the truck is a project - I have never driven it this way), but have read that quad shocks can be very harsh. I am considering removing it, but this will leave two 1/2 or larger holes in each side of the frame from the mounting brackets. Would I be better off leaving the quad shocks in place? It currently has four RS5000 shocks.

1/2" holes in your frame will not hurt anything. They just make your truck lighter! ha ha
Put your head under your truck sometime and try to count all the holes that are in the frame from the factory!

Were dual front's an option in any Blazer years? I've got dual's up front and they look stock. The PO had Instatracs (?) put on and even with 4 shocks up front it's pretty smooth (considering it's a 3 ton truck)

I've got dual shocks on my 88 and I'm pretty sure that they are stock. Hope this helps.

Quad shocks upfront were an option from factory.

I have quad shocks on my 88 Jimmy, these were installed by GMC and I have the window sticker to prove it!

Anyone have a pic to help on placement of the quad shock hangers. Thanks Gary...
