    Ahh, yeah! Passed that mutha\'

Passed my ASE (National Institute fo' Automotive Service Excellence) Advanced Engine Performance test. -Finaly!

Third times a charm [IMG]. The only test I have taken without passing it the first time, had a grudge. (s/p?)

Now, I just need 3 more and I'll get my Master cert..
    - Automatic transmission/Transaxle (Fiddy/Fiddy shot at passing)
    - Heating and A/C sys. (don't know diddly about this one)
    - Electrical/Electroninc systems. (cake-walk, deal with this every-day!)

    Allready have:
    - Brakes (recert)
    - Steering/Suspension (recert)
    - Manual Drivetrain and Axles (1st-time)
    - Engine repair (recert)
    - Engine performance (recert)
    - Advanced Engine Performance (ohh-yeah!)

Buah-hahaha.....Ahh carp, I just rememberd...The CCT (Cert. Chev. Tech.) tests are comeing up...... Son-Of-A-.

    Good for you!
Our dealer has been pressing the parts-guys to get ASE/CCT certs. The one guy that has, just happens to be "the Man" to go to with a tuff job to find parts for too! -go figure!-

Yeah, I'm bragging, that test (Advanced) was ruff. It beat-up the ol' frontal-lobes pretty good....

Congrats Eric!! The worst part is the fact is that ASE makes some of the questions "trick questions" I ran into a few when I took the last round I went for.

    That's cool Twiz.
Car guys have to have A/C to get a master? Medium heavy it is an option.
the last time I checked deisel techs only needed to pass 5 to get a master.
I have been meaning to take the tests for the last 8 years and have never got around to it.
It has been several years since I have even thought about taking the tests.
It does look good on a resume.

    Thanks everyone!

Automotive Master certification requires all eight. Advanced Perf. is optionall.

The advanced perf. test had lots of "trick" questions, It took a good 2 hours or so to take that test.

    Thanks again...

<font color=purple> What is the passing ratio ? You know, like ........ x amount passed out of x amount that took the test ?

Re: Ahh, yeah! Passed that mutha\'

I don't know how meny people don't pass -vs- do pass.

The tests are directed towrds people in the field. Some of the questions are "genneral" knowledge, some of them are more indepth a person really needs "hand-on" expiriance to know the answer. Thats why I passed the Suspension and Brake tests - no problem, I do that stuff everyday. On the other-hand, I don't have enuff "hands-on" work with A/C sys. to even try to take the test.

Donna, you bet I'll toss down a frosty brew, no-problem there![IMG]

Congrats Twiz! I know all about it. I would need axles and man. trans, auto trans, and Advanced myself if I was staying in the field.

Not to blow my own horn but.... That's me at my shop also.
I didn't prepare in any way so I just nicked it. My test had a lot
of admistrative or office type questions that have nothing to
do with finding you the tech the correct parts the first time.
    but I still made it.-Jim
