Please be very careful!!! I sent an email back to him saying nice try on the virus.

through friends, family, and strangers alike, I have recieved mail where my anti-virus detected the kak worm. This is nothing unusual and the sender may not even know it is on their computer if they don't have an anti-virus program. I don't know of any ill effects of this worm other than it can be a real pest showing up in the e-mail. As with any virus, the safe bet is to just delete it, and notify the sender they have a bug.

Darn it, he sent me something that was deleted by me but I don't know if I opened it? His address was in my mailbox.
Guess I need to clean the system[IMG]
Greg, thanks for the notice. Send him a warning, I don't think he knows it (maybe).

These virii can just pick an address from your book and send the virus to each person. The sender does not even see it go out in the e-mail and there is no record of it. A little bit of stealth on the programmers behalf. Can't always blame the messanger.

Except a virius can't change topics I don't think... but could be wrong. I also wouldn't think the viruses would be using topics like SSR's and such. Something smells fishy and it isn't the tunafish sandwich I had for lunch. Be careful.

I got it too but it said something about he was buying some tires and wanted my opinion on if they looked ok. It looked like the same format of the other times someone tried to send me that dumb virus thing so I scanned it and it came up with that worm thing so I deleted it. Wish I had saved it now... oh well....hopefully it's purely on accident and not somebody trying to spread something to us on purpose.....

In defense of this person the virus can be very sneaky. My room mate had it and didn't know about until it had sent 200 messages to random people. He didn't know most of them and had no idea where the e-mail addresses came from. The virus takes file names from your computer and puts that as the subject in the e-mail. For example if you have a file named SSR.doc the subject would be something similar. This person probably doesn't know about it at all. The e-mails all look the same in form asking for your opinion on something.

I n my oppion there is no defense for this person! All the subject lines are different. So he obviously knows what hes doing iI think. If it was something he didnt know about it wouldnt let him change the subject line.

Hey even the regulars can ship virus's around, I got one a while back and it was a muther, had one worm and about 6 other virus attached to it, it killed my'puter dead...but he didn't know and I don't hold it against him...turned out my wife had turned the virus scan off and I didn't know it, it copied my email addresses and sent itself out again....I'd like to catch the little-peckered twerp that orginally programmed the damned thing and show him a good ole southern ass-whooping.

    Still a very pissed-off
