i can get an alpine stereo at wholesale so i need to know if they're good and what model to get if possible. all i want is a CD player, preamp outputs, and some kind of adjustability in the sound. nothing crazy or fancy.

Check this one out. It looks pretty good. This one is the cheapest one with MP3 capability. Hope that helps

I currently have a older model Alpine cd player (about 4 years old). I never liked it. It skips, and scratches my cd's. I'm gonna get ether a Pioneer or Kenwood next.

The older alpine models sucked, the new ones seem pretty good. Im seeing A LOT of them in the high end sound quality installs. I know of at least 3 or 4 of them in new GM trucks with $5,000 systems, and they seem to sound really good, they have a lot of features too.
