    Alternator wiring? \'91 K5 w/serpentine

Hey all. I've got a small case alternator, that has the 4-wire connector on the side of it, and the single charging pole off of the backside. My connector only uses two wires... but I have no idea where these two wires are supposed to go to!

I "customized" the harness for my truck - and I don't have the schematics for the alternator wiring.

Anyone out there have this info that you could post up for me?

    Thanks folks! /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Okay, I'm thinking you might need the conversion plug, I guess.

You are using the plug from the '86 and using an alt. from a '91?

I found the answer. The rear post goes to the battery (constant power, with a large wire direct to the battery), the F terminal on the side connector goes to the ignition swtich (switched power) and the L wire goes to the voltmeter.

Just for the record, thats all. Thanks to Layne (K5BUILT4FUN) for that bit of info! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
