Okay, here's my story. I own a 90 Subaru Justy (piece of sh*t). Anyway, June 2nd, my friend backed into it, causing some damage. The insurance company decided to total it finally, and we're taking the car in and getting a large check on Monday.

So Dad and I go off looking for trucks/SUV's for me. I had a 74 Dodge Power Wagon and a K5 Blazer, both yellow. We look at the Dodge first, and it's a good truck, if I put about $500 into it. Then we go to a lot that I haven't been to yet, and in the back is the nicest truck on the lot: a 79 K5 Blazer Cheyenne, power everything, rust in the process of being repaired, no dents, no leaks, fog lights, nice interior, cd player, 20,000 miles, new tires, etc.

So we're walking around this Blazer, which really stands out in this lot full of crap, and the owner comes out to talk to us. Turns out he's a mechanic for his lot and two others, and in his spare time goes and fixes up the K-5. He hands me the key and it fires right up with no effort at all, and we're looking at it some more. Very nice truck, removable top, power windows all work, locks work, all that nice stuff...

So we get to talking about price... I'm expecting somewhere around $3000-$4000, so when he says $1850, I nearly had to go change myself. I was thinking SOMETHING has to be seriously wrong with it, and he said nothing's wrong with it. The rear pass. side brake squaks sometimes, but they all work well, he's replaced all kinds of stuff, it's got A/C that blows very cold...

So we left to go look the other K-5 I had in mind... We got there, and it just didn't seem worth looking at.. costs more for a rig in worse shape... so That's my story so far..

We're gonna go test drive it on Monday, and I'm seriously hoping it drives as well as it looks/runs, because if this thing was in any better shape than it already is, it might as well be on the showroom floor...

You'd better jump all over that deal - or else you'll be kicking yourself in the butt for years over passing it by.

Buy it !!! that's a good price! in Utah you cant touch a 4X4 even if it's a piece for that price.

Pretty looks good trying but ugly get the job done.

That's a great price! Get it! Junker 4x4s in running drivable condition around here are $1000.
