    I have a 1987 jimmy with 10bolt axles, I am installing a 383
    stroker in the jimmy are my 10 bolt axles gonna take it? <font color="red"> </font>

    What size tires ??? Belive it or not, that has a lot to do with it.

    right now it has 38 inch thornbirds on it

    Is this for street use or do you wheel it also? What gears are you running in it? Stock or did you swap in different ones?

    As long as you use soem finesse with the throttle you should'nt have many problems. If you love doing burnouts and keep your foor on the floor, better start looking for a 14FF... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

    I broke my ten bolt on the street, with 31's and 32's. Is your locked from factory? Mine was , I could send you a pic of the damage. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    might not mean much, but a buddy has a 454 in an 83 with a 10 bolt and 33s. He snapped both rear axles going up a mild hill. The 14bff is allready in.

    with 38's dump it and get a 14ff unless you don't wheel it and don't hotrod it /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

    I wouldnt worry about it too much, Those thornturds wont get enough traction to snap any axles. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

    I stripped the teeth off of the ring gear and pinion on a new style 10B (open diff) on 30" tires with a stock 305...
