    Why not?

We have American Chopper and American HotRod. American 4x4 would be way cooler and be much more technical. They could'nt use ORD, Watson's way too relaxed to add any drama. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, it's Discovery Channel...but all the same. I'm for it. That's something I'd watch! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Maybe we could all email them with this idea. Seems they are loading up on the reality shows lately. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

True, they are...but is there really enough audience out there that would watch it? And, even if there was, what 4x4's would they be making? Just ones for customer? In that case, it would have to be a "Sniper" shop or someone that builds custom vehicles. I don't think you could make a show of any old 4x4 shop putting a lift on a vehicle...it would have to be custom built/lots of engineering and creativity involved.

And the worst part of it all...we'd probably be watching them build show trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

are you saying that show trucks are bad? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

come on rich kids with no brains sure know every 10 lbs of chrome adds 50 horse and 51 ft lbs of torque, plus it makes them lighter and stronger thus better 1/4 mile time. also if the sun ever dies all you need to do is shine a light under it and you could light up a entire city. and with the 10 bolts with 44s, come on its possible. do you have that setup? i didn't think so, so how do you know how well it works. they have more ground clearance so they wont smash there clear diff covers against the curb or maybe a small kid in a shopping cart on the most difficult off road coarse in the world. so do you still think show trucks are bad /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well, yes, that's what goes on with those shows...BUT, that's what they're made for. Yes, the motorcycles and rods are made to cruise, but they're also made for winning shows/contests, hence the eye-appealing design aspects and awesome paint jobs (who saw the POW MIA bike? yeah, you know what I'm talking about, that Jason guy is amazing!).

If there's going to be a 4x4 show, I'd want them to build 4x4's...and 4x4's are meant for offroad use, not shows. I just can't see a television program appealing to a big enough audience solely devoting its 4x4's to trail rigs.

But let me say again...I would LOVE to have a show like that...I'm just saying the possibilities of something like it are slim to none. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You might get them to make a special on a 4x4 build up just to see what happens. That is how it all got started. One hour of mortorcycle mania (staring a soon to be famous Jesse James) and bam!!! reality wrenchin' is born. I say we should try for a small special at a shop like AE or as mentioned above, some custom krawler building.

It's a great idea /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif but just like the rock crawler on Monster G /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif, I think we all would be disappointed /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

That would be a great show as long as they had trucks and not all Heeps /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crewcab.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

How about a documentary? A camera crew comes to your house and films you fixing your broken stuff then film you going out and breaking your stuff or vise veras.

Documentary???? As much as we break and fix stuff it would be more like a mini-series. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Watson may be too mild for the show, but how about MJ or Executioner on there? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

What I meant with Exe. is the fact he would ramble on and on about ball joint pre-load that it would drive everyone nuts and therefore cause a bickering like the two Pauls on American Chopper. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

[/ QUOTE ] A documentary on soemthing like Top Truck Challenge would be good. Get to see rigs breaking, maybe go to all the competitors homes before the event and check where and how they built stuff, show people our real lives of wrenching, fabbing, and wheeling.

It would have to be a custom rig shop to make it work. Deadlines before a competition and stuff like that. It would take longer but would be much more technical and I think interesting. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

"Queer Eye for the K5 Guy"

A group of those 1/2 ton gayfab show truck builders go to the garage of a 1 ton burly 4x4 truck owner, and convert his 'crawler into a real blinging 15" lifted mall-cruzin machine.

They would also organize and decorate his garage, and teach him how to color coordinate a chromed undercarrage and drive train with 16 shocks, 44" boggers, and a way cool flaming paint job and spinnerz /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
