I used to watch it every tuesday night. They haven't made a new one for a long time. They are all re-runs.

Without a bunch of wankers yelling at each other, American 4x4 would be great.

I try to watch that abortion. Unfortunately, they focus more on the drama than the building. I like American Chopper, they have more focus on the building and the drama is funnier................... :D

thats true. they do focus more on the build at AC.but i just plain like seeing cars built vs. bikes. if they swapped boyd and baldie for Jr and Sr it would kick ass.
i think the ratrod buildoff was my favorite.

ya boyd is a douche. but there are a couple guys on there that are just plain cool. mike and the old guy are awesome.

The insane deadline stuff is just the way it really is at almost any shop. I deal with stupid deadlines like that every week at work. The customer will drag his feet revising drawings for two weeks and when they finally give ya the green light the delivery date hasn't changed...

I think Boyd's ex wife is the most annoying on that show.

Roy the fab guy is cool.

I really liked the project Junkyard Dog, but I have a real soft spot for the old shoe boxes.

junkyard dog was awesome.i think they built that car perfectly. exactly the way i'd want it.
his ex wife is pretty bad, but comical. i think his new wife is more annoying now tho, after the rat rod build off. the way she was acting at the car show was pretty lame.
roy is awesome. i love his attitude :D im glad bluebear was fired, he was an @sshat.

Charlie quit too. Haven't really watched since then. He and Roy were the only sane people there. ANd roy gets annoying sometimes. I understand the master fabs are old and don't like to work insane hours but when the young guns take the wheel and try to get some stuff done they just get reemed out. Its stupid and I don't like that aspect. And I think you are wrong about the insane deadline stuff in this case. In your line of work I can see that Rene, but in the HotRod world, you can't tell me someone walks in off the street and say, I want a $100,000 car tomorrow! If the guy who owned that Vette saw the show I bet he was pretty pissed about the way they talked behind his back and such, to the camera. I know as a shop owner, I'D be pissed.

That is the field I'm aiming towards, and I hope to heck any bosses I have give me the time to do a quality job.

American hot rod is a far better show than American chopper. Having built several bikes in the past I know those guys are not that talented. If you watch closely It is Funny how they will pound sh!t on insted of doing it properly. Jesse James is a way better Bike builder. The late Indian Larry was my Favorate though, I love the old School Choppers. Those guys on Hotrod have a lot of Talent............................................................................................

I like both AC and hotrod, but I like the biker buildoff better than either. Those guys make some cool bikes.

ive always thought that too. or jessie compared to the dreadlock guy from choppers Inc. i remember how jessie was showing the camera the annealing process to make the aluminum easier to work with, then u see the dreadlock guy fighting and beating the crap outta the metal to shape a gastank. larry was awesome too. i'd love to work at gasoline alley.

There is a differance between annealing aluminum, and working with steel, you cant really do that with steel, wich is what he(choppers inc. guy) builds his tanks out of

Billy Lane (dreadlock guy?). His bikes are some of my absolute favorites on that series. And I hate choppers and customs like that. I love and admire the work that goes into them though. You have to wonder if 90% of the conflict and deadlines are just for TV to make it more interesting. I sure as hell know for most people it would be bouing to just watch a few guys putting cars and bikes together without a little bit of drama/suspense. Well, I know WE would like that. The network can reacha wider audience with the soap-opera type crap though...

Regardless of what the customer might say as far as deadlines go those are still 'real world' deadlines you'll find in almost any shop. Boyd has to set and meet those deadlines in order to stay profitable and so he can tell a customer approximately when they're car will be done. Without those deadlines the guys would be racking up endless hours on each car like there was no budget or bottom line to worry about. Without those deadlines Boyd wouldn't be able to schedule anything...

The only shop's without deadlines and shceduling issues are the shops we all have at home. Don't like pressure or deadlines...don't work in a 'shop'.

We get deadlines like that at work also. I might be far from the norm:crazy: but I like them, they push you to your limits. I get bored if I have tons of time to finish projects.

As for the show, I like it but could do without all the drama:surepal:. Roy kicks ass:D
