i still dont get why you guys dont use bittorrent

    download bitlord (do a search)

then use toorrentspy.com or isohunt.com to dload all the albums, software, games ect. that your heart desires.

i have 6 albums dloading right now. you will never use anything else to get stuff

Bittorrent is also awsome. I use Azureus and have 12 torrents queued and downloading right now. 3 sites I like to go to for torrents are: isohunt.com, torrentspy.com and mininova.org. Oh and sometimes thepiratebay.org usually this one is just repeats of the other 3.

This is more intended to get the harder to find stuff (like indie stuff pandora throws out once in a while), and individual tunes (that you might be able to find the album its on) ... that and its a really crazy java hack

    Bittorrent????? ****in noobs

BT was fun for a while, but seriously why allow people to leech your bandwidth (see also upload). not only does it anger the crap out of your ISP (as they all have substantially more download bandwidth), but it slows your connection down while downloading.

Newsgroups however are where its at, no uploading required, and you download as fast as your internet connection will allow, at all times. finidng a good news server can be difficult, and unless you have the right kind of connections you will probably end up shelling out 10 a month or so for use of a good NNTP server, but its definatly worth it. (oh yeah, and in "scene" terms, things will always be posted to a newsgroup LONG before its available on any torrent site).

(for you guys who do use BT, PM me and i might have something you guys will be interested in).

    wow i cant believe this board censored f a w k

I've had access to one of the best private BT communitites forever (see also, my offer in last post), and I can tell you for sure that things are always available 4-6 hours earlier on the groups. Hell most suppliers on BT sites get their stuff from groups.

    ALSO

when I said you were uploading, the BT protocol forces you to upload parts of what you are downloading. Sure you can throttle that speed back, but then you both slow down the entire swarm, and risk having people do the same thing right back to you.
