I recently got front and rear Dana 60's off of a Dodge. The rear 60 has the 30 spline axles. I want to put the Moser 35 spline axles in this rear but the hole through the spindle is 1.42" ID and the 35 spline axles are 1.49" OD. Moser said I could open up the hole. Does anyone know someone that has done this. I was wondering about the strength of the spindle after this modification. The 30 spline axles neck down to 1.2" OD, yikes! I'm used to looking at the 14 bolt floater axles on my K20 which are like 1.56" OD.

If I was you, I'd "off" that rear 60 and buy a 14BFF. I KNOW FOR A FACT that you can get one cheaper than upgrading that rear 60 with 35 spline shafts (which are $300-500), then new carrier (Detroit for a 60 is about $500). You can get a 14B rear for $100-300, and its ready to go (big shafts). Ditch the 60 rear!!
