A while back someone was selling a '73 D60 front axle. I replied back to him that the pic showed a D44 and D60's were not available til '77.

When you clicked on the pics, it clearly showed that it was a D44 because of the size and the ball joint knuckles, and also the 4 u-bolts.

I sent the owner an e-mail to notify him of the mistake. Clearly explained to him what and why he had a D44.

I got a reply back from him and here's his reply:

I went back and found the auction this seller had this so-called "D60" up for sale.

Scroll down and he has listed his mistake. He even apologized, too.

Evidently he was confused between the internal and external lock out hub sizes. Thought the big external hub was a D60 hub. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

This dude also had a TH400 for a 205 cse that came from a 79 3/4 ton. Someone finally got him to see the light. The best one was a while back there was someone that had a TH400 for a 203 that when they showed the pan, it sure looked a heck of a lot like a Th350 /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

That's funny, I emailed that guy too and told him the same thing about the ball joints and that D60s weren't available until 77. He never responded to me though...
