The Sgt. with the Sheriff's Dept. finally called me today, after 11 months since I turned in my masterpiece of an application for a CCW. He's ready to set up my interview, but said they need a letter of acknowledgement from my employer, before proceeding. This probably is not going to be an easy sell. Any suggestions on how to present this the owner?

Bubba and Jek, you're on deck.

Ok, I haven't seen your previous posts on this but why do you need a letter from your employer? Is this for work?

In GA, you get a background check, fingerprinted and in 7 days a judge signs off on it.

I know, it's pretty simple if you are a lawful citizin in most States. Because in my essay, I had to write a "reason". Now, I am only wanting to avoid be hauled off to jail by the C.H.P., because firearms are a big part of my life, I always travel with one. Or two. Not scared, just like'm and have a lot of training. No exaggerating there. Secondly, I could'nt say "to get back my Natural right under God to defend myself. Nor could I say " 2nd amendment" etc. because the Vehicle Code says loaded firearm - go to jail. SO, because I work traveling to construction sites , early AM late PM at times, in commonly known bad ares of LA and Ventura County, that was my cause/ reason tp apply. Work related.

What do you do? I inspect many jobsites that are all in the area also and I know what your talking about. Some areas I go through I wish I had nothing less than a rocket launcher. Good luck with getting your CCW, let me know how it goes. The other day I was looking through some information and wondering how hard it is to get a permit in california.

Although I'm 7 years removed from CA (San Diego), If you don't have a store front (meaning an actual store to sell firearms) your S.O.L.
In the early 90's when the Brady Bill was passed, ATF came to town and went to EVERY CCW owners residents and took the CCW's of those who didn't have a store; my friend being one of them.

    Good luck.

I am a salesman for a large concrete pumping company.

It ain't easy, unless you live in Kern county. A client of mine got his in 4 weeks.

The SD is just trying to cover their butts in case of an incident my employer will be named in a suit.

sorry about your luck in CA.in VA I got mine with a 3hr class and a 5min trip to the courthouse with a $50 bill,3 weeks later it was in my mailbox.here they have to show a reason that you SHOULDN'T have it.FLA. permits are valid in many states that others aren't though, you should check to see if CA. is one,if so they are easy for out of state residents to get and that would be an easy fix
