I also have a opportunity to buy a 77' K30 pick up, it has the front dana 60 and rear 14 bolt with 4:56 gears, sm465, np205 I believe, for 1800 bucks. I would swap the entire drivetrain other than the motor into my 87'. Does this sound like a deal or just an average price?? Is it a good enough deal that is worth getting into an argument with the GF over?? lol (Neil if you read this I havent forgotten about you)

You do realize that Boyce is selling Dana 60's for over 2 grand now. With that said, as long as everything is in working order, I'd buy it...quickly. Esp since it already had 4.56 gears.

I would have to say that $1800 is definately worth the D60 and FF 14bolt alone. But you are getting a NP205 the additional trans, and the 4.56 gears! I would take it if you weren't interested!!!

Yeah you're getting a deal there. I've given up on axles out here due to the cost of them. If you can get them for that cost along with the rest of the stuff jump at it....I sure would.....

I'd be on that like a "Fat kid on a smartie"[IMG]
I can't even remember the last K30 single wheel pick-up I've seen let alone be for sale. Too many people here know what the Dana 60 front-end is worth by itself so when you do see them for sale they're spendy...

Not only would I buy it, but I'd swap out the axles and turn around and sell it with the old ones off your 87.

I'd buy it in a minute no questions asked and the wife would just have to deal with it. Try getting all that without the truck for $1800.

Don't hesitate. Someone else will pick it up. You have the obviouse swapouts, well worth the 1800, plus you have all sorts of spare parts that are interchangeable. It sounds like a gold mine to me.
