I am swapping in a GM TBI out a van. The aircleaner is much smaller (element size) than the big truck one My K5 came with. What did the TBI K5's come with for a aircleaner?

The one they came with was very similar to the OEM unit on our Quadrajets. I'm considering adapting one of these to mine.

Any reason I cant slice the ring off the TBI aircleaner and weld it to my Quadrajunk one? The custom chip is going to kinda kill my budget on this project so no Airraid

The ring is the same size, so your current carb'ed air cleaner should drop right on.
