I am going to install a new head unit when i get a Blazer, and i was wondering if these Antenna boosters are any good. go to http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-1jheZXC3P0V/ProdGroup.asp?c=2&g=732&s=0 to see two. Has anyone installed these? How do they work? Do they just make it louder, or actually improve reception? Thanks!

i've tried a couple of these in the past with no luck... no real improvement IMO. I'd say save your money...

They're kinda like those things from J.C. Whitney that strap around your fuel line and magically increase gas mileage. And they never really work. I haven't had much luck with the antenna boosters either. If everything is set up right (your radio and antenna) you shouldn't need one. If your antenna mounts to the body, make sure its tight and has a good ground to the metal.
