Right now i have alot of fender trimming and have ample space with my 38.5 x14.5 swampers can i go with 44s and just more trimming??? ive seen 42 x 15 with a 4in lift but 15 inches wide is a bit different than 19 inchs that the boggers run. I just want to keep my center of gravity as low as possible. If it wont fly i will get the shackle flip and 8 inch front springs but 8 inches of lift opens up a barrel of monkeys.

I don't think so ( unless you want no inner fenders-ugly stuff)
I had 44" boggers with a 6" suspension and 3" body lift with fender trimming to the edge of the inner fenders. Still looked nice.

With a 6" suspension lift your drive angles are still not too bad. Anything over that you're looking at major changes

38.5 on 4" already impresses me. Have any close up picks of your fender job?

I think I found a way to do it on mine. But basically, you're looking at firewall surgery, no inner fenders, and radiator support work.

Im interested to. The only thing I have to worry about though is the radiator support and firewall. No fenders anymore. :)

You will be wider with the 44's so you're center of gravity won't be as bad as you would think , we're at 94" wide
Here's a pic of the K5 with a 6 & 3 lift and cut fender with 44's

That rear spring looks like a lot more that just a 4" lift spring. I have 6" springs on the rear of mine that are flatter than that. Sure you only have 4" lift?

I thought I was wrong once,
but I was mistaken

white knight i was thinking about doing a body lift but i have heard of ppl putting holes through the body with body lifts! I was thinking of curing that by putting a long 1 1/2" wide by 6 inch long metal pieces between the body spacers and my body to displace the all the force on the body put on by the spacer but i dunno if my theory is flawed.

You could do that but if your body is not rusted and in good shape it really isn't necessary. It won't put holes through the body.

So you really have about a 5" lift with the 1 ton running gear on it, right? Are those are 38.5 x 14.5 SX swampers? I like the looks of that. Very nice.

See Ya,
Keith
