Calico Mtns, NE of town, is a good place to go. You'll be close to Johnson Valley (S-E) and Stoddard Wells (due South) OHV areas. Afton Canyon to the East is very scenic. Helendale (S-W) on Old 66 has the Stripper Hall of Fame Museum. Behind Black Mesa (N-W) is the BP Husky Monument to desert Riders. Due north is "Flash Two" where the locals go to watch the Submarine Races.

Basically any direction you point out of town has something of interest.

M.O.R.E. has a desert race on May 26th in J.V.
MDR has a race at Ridgecrest on May 5th.

If your willing to come down the hill a ways theres a place called cleghorn road that I like to play around on. heres a pic of what it looks like. It has something for everyone, and you can take a stocker out and not worry too much as long as you stay on the main trail.

How far is that from Barstow? As long as I have the time, than I would definitely be up for that. As long as I can take a stock heep or at least catch a ride.:D I thought about driving out there for the trip instead of flying. But I dont think the Blazer would do to well on an extended trip yet. Plus gas would be a killer.:doah:

Its about an hour south from barstow. 10 minutes from my house actually. It is fun, and you could catch a ride, or take the stock heap. I wouldn't mind giving you a ride or helping un-stick the stocker. :)

Great!:D I'll post up as soon as I know the dates better. Usually I have some free time near the last couple of days. I'm pretty busy when I first get on the ground. Thx,

I'm thinking a run to the Calico's should be planned. Mines, vistas, mild to hard trails, mines, scenery.
