I was wondering how good are the Saginaw (if that's how you spell it) steering gear boxes if anybody has one or knows somebody that does do they like it?, I need one and one of my friends has one he says it's a pre-76 heavy duty, but it's from a 3/4 ton 2WD Chevy truck, would this work in my Blazer since the truck was not 4WD? anyway if somebody knows something about Saginaw good or bad please let me know thanks.

    keep blazin !!!

A while back I remember a post or some article I read that talked about 4x2 and 4x4 steering boxes. Can't remember why, but they are not interchangeable. Hopefully somebody can come up with the details. As far as the Saginaw goes, I don't know, still have the stock unit and it's working great.

I think some of early steering boxes used a different style pitman arm for 2 and 4 wheel drive. different shaft sizes.
