I need to book a Fri, Sat, Sun stay at a hotel for February.

Any hints on how to get a good rate? I'm there for business and paying out of pocket, so less is more. I won't be in the room expect for at night.

Obviously proximity to where I have to be is important, but above that what is the best way to shop for this?

Sorry for the dumb question but I've never had to book in advance before.

Check online for hotels in the area you need too be in. Call thier 800 numbers and speak to a live person and ask about businessman discounts. I've stayed in some nice hotels for fairly cheap by doing my research and price compairing. I recently stayed at a Ramada Limited with a fridge and microwave in the room, 2 queen size beds, and a couch for $50.00 for the one night. (that was for 2 people)

I'll agree when me and the wife went to Disney Land in Orlando Orbitz accidentally posted one of there rooms at LaQuinta Resort Inn for 25$ a night so we booked 5 nights with them and come to find out it was a type-O and that the room we stayed in was a 100$ room. They say this happens all the time so keep on the look out and Good Luck!!

Try to get a business or corporate rate as well.
