    Hey ya'll,

I was wonderin if its worth spending the 30 or 40 bucks to get a copy of desktop dyno software? I don't know anyone who has used it or not and I was thinking about seeing how good it would be at checking out different setups for a 350.

    thanks

    kyle

I'd say it's definately worth it. We've only actually done one comparison. My buddy built a 454 for his truck using desktop dyno. After it was done, he had it dynoe'd for real. The only downside is that DD gives HP at the flywheel and the real dyno gave rear wheel HP. Using the calculations that the dyno guys had, DD was only off by about 25 HP. Not bad considering that we didn't have true flywheel measurements.
