I have an older fire (Cheapo Sentrey model 2286 1 hr rated). long story short it is empty and locked, no combonation. i had it written down in a safe :haha: spot and yet the GF tosed it out. i have not used this safe in years. I create a lot of Very important (to Me) data file of my payroll and accounting records. so i bought a big ass fire safe rated at 2 hours. some guys have told me that CD files will still get messed up in a good fire, so several have suggested a smaller fire safe inside the larger one as the ultimate fire protection. i gess 2 hr rated plus 1 Hr rated = 3 or more hours?. the Chandler FD is only 10 miutes away so this soution gives me plenty of comfort, however i can't open this smaller one. :doah:

Sooo.... How do i break into this without destroying the fire rating? I need the door to fuction and latch, but i do not care if it locks (prefer if it didn't)as the bigger safe is burglary rated and MUCH beefier than this turd. It is too cheap for a glass relocker, so i am thinking of cutting/ drilling off the dial and trying to manipulate the arm inside, of just cutting an access hole with a cut off wheel to get at the guts and rewelding a plate over the hole when i am done. any thoughts, ideas, theives?

Go to ________ (insert any store) buy another one (Cheapo Sentrey model 2286 1 hr rated).

If you break it it ruins the fire rating any way and they don't call them safes for the heck of it. You will spend way to long getting in the thing then fixing it then the $50 its going to cost to buy another one. Course you could just take it to a locksmith and let them try.:D

a lock smith will charge as much to open it as it is to buy a new one.

the only real hope is sentry may have defult or factory coads that *might* open it.

comtact a dealer, to see it there is, dought they would give info over the phone, but you can try or ask a smith if they have coads.

i onced opend a xombo lock buy trying about 130 different combos befor one worked, gome some time? get going.

The sawzall works great... the blades were junk, though. But a quick trip to Home Depot and some cash spent on high quality blades fixed that right quick.

    Fixed it for ya...
Can you crack jokes on yourself?
I guess if I can reply to myself you can make fun of yourself :p:

Otherwise I would call the company and they might be able to tell you if it has a serial number on the outside somewhere. I highly doubt, if there is a master code, that they would readily give it out. If there was such a thing I would think its on the internet somewhere. :D
