After reading about all the sidepanels and seeing some pics I decided to do the same. My 85 didn't come with any panels so I had to make a template and everything from scratch. Anyway I have the 2 sidepanels cut out and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'll be taking pictures soon so you can all see.

My question is this, I'd like to hear your recommendations for some low cost "decent" quality subwoofers and an amp(s) to push them. I really don't know if I want 4ohm or 8ohm or what. I have an Alpine CD deck (don't know the model) and the stock front speakers and some 6x9's in the back. I'd like to replace the 6x9's with some 4" and put 2 10" subs in the back. I'll be placing both speakers (the 4" and 10") in the side panels.

Any recommendations or pointers would be helpful

    Thanks!

    -Jason

    Jason, (nice name btw)

I am more of a off-road guy than a stereo geek, but I have all the stereo I need at the moment. I run a Clarion deck, some little (3"?) pioneer speaks in the dash...some pioneer 6x9s in my custom side panels (see webshots)...and a pair of 12" MTX 5000 subs in the far back pushed by a MTX 2150x amp. Most all of this is shown on my webshots album. I won't win any stereo comps or anything, but its plenty loud, and sounds good to me. I definitely get plenty of bass, if I was going to change ANYTHING, I'd just get better speakers in my dash or maybe a MP3 capable deck. =)

Hey thanks for the reply. Here's what I've ended up with. I kept the Alpine Deck that I already had in the blazer. I also have some 3" Alpine speakers up front. In the rear I've added some Pioneer TS-A1665 6.5" speakers up by the rear seat. Behind the seat I've got JL Audio 10" W0 Subwoofers. The Subs are being pushed by a Jenson 600 Watt Amp. I don't have the sub's hooked up yet I hope to get this done tomorrow. I'll make sure and post a link to the pictures when I'm all done.

Just make sure when you wire the speakers in you have the power cord on one side and the speaker wires on the other side or it will make noises and sound bad. Also buy good quality cable (heavy) and connectors. You will get better sound quality and simply bigger is better when it comes to cable [IMG] Also don't forget the fuse within 12"-18" of the battery when wiring it all back in!
