Our new shack is prewired for a security system and I'm ready to get it all wired up. I installed a DSC 3000 in our house in Houston about 16 years ago. It was easy to install and worked great. Just wondering if anyone knows of good places to buy controls, switches, keypads, etc. at good prices. I know that there are some pretty trick keypads around these days. What's the best bang for the buck?

    Thanks!

bling keypad? We use Hirsch scramble pads at work...

if 007 is trailing you and watching you put your code in to see where you push on the pad, and therefore know your code, it won't work... :thumb: Numbers come up random every time... so the same numerical code looks different every time. Illuminated numbers are directional also, so they are only visible from a narrow point of view (ie direct front).

not sure what home security systems use. Prolly somethin not as cool. :)

That's really cool, I should look into that. Not that I'll ever need it, but it's cool.

They are pretty neat. Hirsch makes good gear. I'd like to spew more details, but I prolly shouldn't. :thumb:

I love looking at security systems. The ingenuity in many systems fascinates me.

Those are cool! I'd love to have the combo setup that requires a PIN code AND a magnetic card to grant access. :cool1: Price may be over the top for a home application though. ;)

Yep! It took a while to find one that the wife was OK with, but at least we don't live at La Quinta any more... ;)

Large older security camera housings on ebay work wonders. Opportunistic thieves don't like it when they think they are being watched.
