    Anybody have 36\" hummer tiers?

How are they one the road/mud? What are the pros and cons of them and the 16.5 rims they will be on. Thanks for your help.

I run em. best part about them is they are cheap... they do pretty good, side lugs do most of the work in the deep mud. act the same as any biased-ply mud tire on the road. get them because they are cheap not because you want a great off-road tire. if you are looking for an awesome offroad tire get swampers or MT/Rs.

16.5s don't have that safety lip, but i have never had a problem with one coming off the rim(i dont have the beadlock rims by the way)

Originally, weren't Humvee tires Goodyear Wranglers MT's? I seem to recollect working in my battalion's motor pool many years ago, and could have sworn the tires on the Hummers were some beefy Goodyears.

they have both---the goodyears which were radials and 37" and the bias ply and they were 36" i have the goodyears and they are great on the street, and not so good in the rocks, mabye its just because i don't want to air down too low nad pop a bead.

the con's about the 36's is they flat spot on the hummers but they also weigh 6800 lbs. the pro would be they are easy to find the 37 mt's which are on most of my hummers are a little pricey but alot better on road but similar traction in the mud/rocks!!!

i didn't know you could get the 36" Goodyear RT/II's new?!?!? they were made specifically for the military. maybe the military just had some that they never used?

i get flat spots on my M1008 (6000#) with them too but its definatly nothing to complain about

anyways, i pay $35 per tire for mine used. i get good ones and sometimes i get ones with a little less tread than i like, but i dont complain.

I didnt think you could get them either but they still have the little fuzzies on them. I didnt ask the guy where he got them, I just took them and ran before he could change his mind. I got mine for $600 and that included shipping from Texas to California.

Did these happen to be from Killeen, TX? if so they could probably be tolen from FT Hood. A lot of parts there and not treally that hard to get a hold of them. I got a pair of HMMWV rims when i was stationed there, but couldn't use them since i had no reciept. Being a Mechanic that works on these they would have gotten suspicious and checked. But, you can get the 36 or 37's for about 25 a piece used here in El Paso. And both are Goodyear's.
