    I have always been told that its really bad to pour cold water into a hot pan, but to wait till it cools off to rinse or wash it out.
    Anybody know about this?

    ...it is OK to do it if you like warped fry pans...

    I've only heard about it relating to cast iron pans, but they'll shatter

    I was told it would make the non stick stuff come off

    Wich brings me to another question:

    If the non stick surface is really non stick, how do they stick it to the pans? :D

    YES, cold water into a hot nonstick pan WILL make the nonstick start flaking off. Ask me how I know... :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:
    I have a book somewhere that, among other things, details how the nonstick coating is bonded to the pan, but it's buried in the basement. I recall it has something to do with a chemical reaction though...

    rapid cooling will warp the pan.
